About TKC

The Beginnings

The Kitty Commodity was established in March of 2007. A San Diego based company that gets its inspiration from powerful, assertive women.

It is a goal of TKC to promote itself to a level of recognition that identifies awareness and self-assuredness with the brand.

The company name, logo and designs have been created to send various messages. TKC designs can be empowering, expressive and sometimes a little crazy.

"I wanted to create a line that a woman could wear and be expressive, while at the same time to support female causes" -Christian Dickinson/Founder

The Name

Are you curious where the company name and logo came from?

At TKC, we believed that we could tweak something derogatory and turn it into something positive. We used this philosophy when developing the company name and logo

"KITTY" is a name that replaces the derogatory "p" word that men love to use and women love to hate.

"KITTY" is much easier on the ears as well as a cute name when referring to a vagina.

"COMMODITY" stands for something that is negotiated, something that has value. Now that can be taken out of context, so at TKC what we mean by this is, value yourself and your body. Not all women are aware of how powerful this can make them.

"OUR LOGO" The pink box is obvious. A "Kitty" has been called a "box" for decades. We are living in a time of awareness, abbreviation and symbols, thus we felt the "awareness pink" the "box" and "TKC" was appropriate.
